After the Wind by Jaklyn M. Hawkes

After the Wind by Jaklyn M. Hawkes

Dust Jacket:

They say time heals all wounds.
Sometimes it doesn't.

After seeing her young family killed by a propane tanker explosion, the rest of Kristen's life seems more like a life sentence. Trying to escape the memories, she finds herself in a remote Idaho resort town where no one knows her story.

Her co-workers think she's intriguing.

Her neighbors think she's crazy.

She thinks she's hopeless.

Then she meets Joe.

My Review: 4.5 Stars

Devastated ski instructor hermit with PTSD catches the hearts of the next door pack of teenage brothers and their protective, semi-retired, father. Danger, tragedy, fear and faith ensue.

This story has great endearing male characters. The teenage sons are classic in their activities and role in the romance. The lead male is just everything women want the him to think and do. He is sensitive and thoughtful, passionate and responsible, and keeps his distance when asked but then breaks that rule when he knows you need it. He is so attentive that he can read what the female mind wants. (This could possibly be a training manual for the ideal man on how to read women.) The female lead is independent and needy but not helpless, and slightly blinded by her fears. The story line is engaging and keeps moving. And as always it includes a trip to the hospital.
